The Ankeny Klothing Exchange (TAKE) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in Ankeny that provides free gently used clothing, shoes, linens, household goods, and more to people in need. In 2022, TAKE served 6,500 persons who shopped for more than 23,650 family and household members. These numbers have continued to grow in 2023. TAKE provides assistance to persons in need from Ankeny, Des Moines, and many other surrounding communities. TAKE has existed for over 30 years as an all-volunteer run organization.

TAKE has lost its current lease and must relocate by December 31, 2023. After determining that the cost of purchasing a building is less than commercial rental rates in Ankeny, TAKE has purchased a suitable building for its growing operational needs. The purchase of this property is subject to financing, which requires TAKE to raise $300,000 for a down payment by November 20, 2023. TAKE has a short window to make this a reality and settle in a permanent home!
