The Ankeny Klothing Exchange ( T A K E ) is a non-profit organization that operates a store offering free gently used clothing, shoes, linens, household goods, and more to people in need.
WHAT does take do?
take receives donations from the community & provides them to community members in need
volunteers do it all!
What’s THE “Christmas Room”?
TAKE OFFERS A SPECIAL SHOPPING EVENT FOR THE HOLIDAYS…THE CHRISTMAS ROOM
The christmas room is open between thanksgiving and christmas.
“Thank you so much for your kindness in allowing participants to shop for their families this Christmas season! The volunteers who assisted our participants were amazing!! Our participants enjoy this treat you provide for them. Most of them are unable to get out to shop—and have such a low income that they cannot afford to buy gifts for their loved ones. Know that you make a huge difference in many lives!!” -New Horizons Adult Day Center
TAKE'S IMPACT ON THE COMMUNITY
serving the most vulnerable
We are always surprised to learn that community members are unaware that there is a need for our services in Ankeny.
Take makes personal, tremendous impacts!
our volunteers have so many stories to share about those helped by take over the years…
Dishes to a mother who is now able to feed her family soup & cereal because TAKE had bowls to give her…
Halloween costumes for families that could not otherwise have them, so children can be just like the other kids…
Because it doesn’t matter where a hero get his or her cape
A homeless lady explained that having a can opener is an answer to her prayers…
Because a sealed can can’t feed anyone
